Subject: OT: Ghost problems on Sony VAIO

Getting the OS, drivers and software on this VAIO has been a real wrestling match. Now for some reason Ghost doesn't want to offer the C: drive as an option for restoring images to.

I had to pull the 4GB HDD to get an OS onto it, as I couldn't find any bootable OS CDs the system would take. So I partitioned it and loaded Win98SE files onto a 400MB D: partition while in the desktop.

I created Ghost images at different stages of OS, driver and software setup. But now that I want to restore one of the images, when Ghost gets to the final screen for selecting partitiions to restore the image to, the 3400MB C: partition isn't enabled as a destination partition. It's 'grayed out' (I'm using just the little old DOS ghost.exe file) along with the D: partition that has the .gho image file on it.

I've never had this problem with any HDD for the Lib. Anyone have any idea what might be going on here?

Thanks for any feedback,

Matt
