Hi Experts,
Forgive me if not clear enough, will try to be describe what I need.
What I need: Start a VM on a remote libvirtd server based on an existing image
(Might or might not exist on server), plus some userdata.
It is pretty much the same like EC2 or Eucalyptus, but we need to run on
Hi Experts,
Just wondering is it possible now to run libvirt deamon on non-linux
platforms (mainly windows and mac)? If yes, are there instructions on how to
build it. If no, what was the roadblock?
I'm trying to find a tool that can control the VMM for desktop/laptop users
under win/mac/linux.
Hi All,
A question when porting to Mac.
It says:
ld: unknown option: --version-script=./libvirt_sym.version
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [libvirt.la] Error 1
Indeed --version-script doesn't exist in mac's ld. Can I change it to

Hi All,
Just wondering has anyone successfully ported libvirt to Mac yet?

Thanks.

Thanks Atsushi and Stefan,
It seems that libvirtd has to run with root, is this true?
But why does libvirtd need to run for QEMU? If it's for start/stop/pause vm,
is Qemu's command line tool not enough?
Thanks!

Hi All,
I noticed there are some discussion about VMWare support of libvirt
several back in April-May. Just wondering is there a prototype yet?
The function I¹m interested in is to stop/start a VM by VMWare
player/workstation/free server.
Thanks,
