snippet code responsibility.

Thinking about this overnight it sounds like we need some way to
inform a snippet of who is trying to interact with it and what rights
they have is needed.
I'm building a website for a group that wants to have different levels
of access to the site. Essentially, there will be five roles, from Admin
down to Guest, with each role having access to different parts of the site.
Some pages will only be accessible to users with a specific role. For
