we share the same feelings about the community, as I have expressed myself
in the lists in the past. And what can we say about Martin and his baby ...
! I do not know many professors that can do theoretical research and be
heavy coders at the same time, successful in both.

I am a bit research-inclined professional, trying to follow advances in the
art, as expressed in relevant conferences or journals (well, don't think
that I understand everything, though :-) ).. I think if the functional
community has used Haskel as a research vehicle, then the OO community or
the object-functional community can use Scala as a research vehicle and this
is a big news...Of course, Scala is here, today and is very pragmatic!
No-one can take this away!
