There's one big thing I want to do in Lilypond, and wanted to get some opinions
on the matter...
In my choral music, there are often large sections of unison and two-part
writing, as well as four- and [complex] eight-part writing. That is to

The lexer reads regular expressions, and tries to match them to a rule.
A rule will return a token and a value (yylval). These two will be used
by the parser to interpret the input.
This is so simple.
So for example how a note name is recognized:
a note name like fs will be read as [a-zA-Z\200-\
