i want to connect 3 notes with 2 glissandi, as in
\notes\relative c' { g2 \glissando g'2 \glissando g,1 }
but only the second one gets rendered.
i tried to hack:
g2 \glissando g'2*1/2
\once\property Voice.NoteHead \set #'transparent = ##t
g1*1/4 \glissando g,1
what if it's only one staff in a multi-staff system?

i.e. i wish to have notes on a staff, using treble clef note positions,
but with no clef showing on the staff.
i don't see how to do this in the manual. is it possible?

If you choose orientation Portrait in gv, you will see the full
page but rotated. Hopefully, your printer will also handle the
PS file correctly.

The problem is not in LilyPond but probably in your dvips. In my
installation wich has dvips(k) 5.86 instead of your dvips(k) 5.92b,
