Does anyone have a fairly recent build for cygwin? I'm using something
horribly old and it doesn't work with a lot of the ly files I've received
(such as the marching band score that Peter posted). If so, where can I get
it? I'm not really feeling upto getting the build environment going right

Bagpipers are used to reading music with flat beams. The
stems should be long, enough to not interfere with the
clutter of grace notes.
I've done a lot of web research on beams, and various kinds
of "concaveness" seem to be something what I'm looking for.
I'm not sure what value(s) to set, and

Thank you, it works now, I had to move test.ly into the cygwin
home-directory though. Would be nice if I can just double-click it.
Second: I already have a running TeX-system, MiKTeX, (I'm using W2k), but
Cygwin installed TeTeX too, which I find a bit superfluous. Can I tell

I'm writing a converter for BMW (a windows bagpipe music
program) to Lilypond conversion program. There are
thousands of BMW files on the web, so it will be useful.
Pipers are very picky about how their music is printed,
hence this and other questions I will be asking.
QUESTION: How do I for

As you may have noticed, the attachments are stripped on the mailing
list (due to the flood of virus emails). Notice that the property
names are case sensitive. If you replace the first 'S' in the
property name by 's', everything should work as you expect.

Hi,
I've now half way through my first real Lilypond score. I mostly arrange
music for marching bands consisting of flutes and drums and a small
brass section.
Here's my first impressions. The files are at:

Hello,
if you use the cygwin version under windows, look in the log-file
lilypond created in the same folder. There won't be any pdf-file, if an
error occurred during processing the file.

Please tell us some more details about what you tried to do.
What platform do you use (Windows, Mac or Linux (what distribution in
that case))? Is this your first attempts to use LilyPond?
How did you install? Do you get any error messages when you process the
