Hi,
I have figured out how to set up my two-part choral score to include an
ostinato line in the middle for a few bars. This is a percussive piece
(no melody).
I set:
Ostinato = \drummode {
\repeat "unfold" 4 {some percussion}
}
groupOne = \drummode {
\override Score

Yes and no! Before version 1.8, ^#"..." was equivalent to ^"...",

Thanks for your input, but none of the markup commands seem to work :
% this works
\set stanza = "mf"
% this doesn't
\set stanza = \markup { \dynamic (mf) }%empty
\set stanza = \markup { \dynamic ("mf") } %empty
Is my syntax incorrect ?

What should I do next? How to install? How to see documentation?

According to the web site, there are 3 things that don't work, but I can
live with them all.
I'll wait for 2.6.0

I will wait for version 2.6; a 10 MB download is feasible, even with
dialup, and I can probably use Lynx on Unix to get a fast broadband
download to my University's computer downtown (so that your site will not
be tied up for an hour), and then do a 1-hour

Just run both installation programs!
Only Windows 98 has been mentioned. Is XP OK?
Of course!

This is how I do it:
timidity input.mid -Ow1S -s 44100
Hi all,
I'm trying to make mp3's from the midi-files generated by lilypond using
timidity and lame. Unfortunately, I have no success using these tools: the
resulting mp3-file runs much too fast on the mpg123 player; sometimes I only
get some "noise". The reason is simple: I can't find the right op
Hi,
after a crash of two months of my laptop, I am very happy to use again lilypond!
And congratulation for the new installer, it is really easy and nice to install
and use!

Yes, I did, because I built a 2.5.x cygwin version before. I think the
native version is twice as fast as the Cygwin version. However, I don't
have more precise comparison, but I'll build a cygwin version for 2.5
(or 2.6), and we'll be able to compare.

The cygwin version works well along with the native one, but
double-clicking will call the native.
However, if you use jEdit for example, and the latest development
version (0.8.2-3) of the LilyPondTool plugin
(www.sf.net/projects/lily4jedit), you can choose which version to run.
