Creating a nice formatted Chords + Lyrics layout for guitar players

2007-11-19 Thread Thomas Bonte
I'm trying to create a nice Chords + Lyrics layout, formatted in the same way as you may see on the many websites offering ascii chords and lyrics. You may see my current result on this pdf file: http://www.nabble.com/file/p13829430/CL-v2.pdf CL-v2.pdf As you will notice, there is one issue I c

Hi eyolf, It is indeed already discussed before, but without proper results. The reason why we use lilypond is because I want to use the transpose functionality, in order to transpose several keys in one time using a little script. So, I don't consider this as pure text. But it's possible that t

Hi Johan, I did find you personal website, which has a lot of references to several programs dealing with music (impressive list I must say), but can you point me to the 'chords' program? An url perhaps? Thx for the reply. Thomas -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Creating-

Spanning bar lines in mensural notation

2007-11-19 Thread erminia
Dear all, I ask for help with the following problem: How can I set a mensural score (vocal music) with bar lines spanning all staves? And how, if successful, do I prevent the text syllables from clashing with the bar lines? Many thanks in advance, erminia -- View this message in context: htt

It's much easier to provide a relevant answer to your question if you include a small but complete example of the kind of score setup you have now, where you want to include the spanning bar lines. If you currently use ChoirStaff, it should help to just replace it by StaffGroup, see the section

Hi James, I can't help thinking that an error message would have been in order here. As I interpret what happened here, I can say '\set Staff.anyOldThing = "whatever"', and Lilypond won't complain. Is that right? I've seen warnings about "backend properties" not existing, but I've never

Overlapping Horizontal Brackets

2007-11-19 Thread Monk Panteleimon
Hello. I am preparing a musicological document in which one figure shows overlapping tetrachords. I want to do \stopGroup and immediate \startGroup (with the bracket on the other Y side of the staff) on the same note, but LP won't do it. It looks like analysis brackets can be nested, but not overla
