I am trying to draw a single box around multiple notes. Right now, I am
only able to draw multiple boxes around multiple notes :

I just realised this because of some trial and error, but en- and em-
spaces are recognised by lilypond, but not treated as spaces.
Particularly useful if you want to add comments at the end of the
lyrics where there are no notes.
