Hello,
I started this week with Lilypond and it works great. I'm only having a problem
with grouping rests.
This is the code so far:

composer = Bald WYNTIN
poet = Altsax

How can I add a key signature to an ossia stave? In the example below, I get
an error if I uncomment either of the key signature lines in the ossia
staff.

How do you normally specify the key signature for a stave? Certainly not
within a \with{...}, right?
Just insert the \key e \minor before the first note:
...
\new Staff \with { ... }
{ \key e \minor e4 d f e }

Hi, the following is an excerpt from a systematic listing of accordion
chords with different ambitus. The ambitus engraver should not heed the
first (arbitrary) key signature but rather engrave as though we were in
c major.
How do I do that?

Moving to lilypond-user.
To make scores, use CKE editor with its LaTeX syntax coloring.

Hello,
let's modify slightly a snippet from NR 1.7.1, section Fingering
Instructions:
\relative c' {
\set fingeringOrientations = #'(left)
c-1 d-2 a'-54
\set fingeringOrientations = #'(down)
c-1 d-2 a'-54
\set fingeringOrientations = #'(down right up)
c-1 d-2 a'-54
\set
This is a problem for me as well. I prefer my fingerings to the left of
notes and chords in the score (for guitar music) and when notating
chords that contain seconds, I'm forced to choose which notes to
indicate fingerings for in order to avoid collisions. Another related
problem: In chords
I've recently switched my main computer from Windows to Ubuntu Linux. Before
this change, I was using Sibelius quite a bit for hymnbook work. I am
contemplating a change to Lilypond, but before I invest large amounts of
time learning it, I was just hoping that a few experts who have used the
As an aside, if you absolutely need Sibelius, I've had success running
Sibelius 2 on Ubuntu 8.04 under Wine. Making a .pdf might be tricky, but
I haven't fully investigated it.
Good luck!

Dave,
Thanks for the quick reply. I have two other computers in the house that
have Windows on them (I run a home-based computer support business), so I
can use Sibelius on them if I have to...but I would rather switch to
Lilypond. By the way, my download link didn't seem to transfer properly.
A further problem (seems to me to qualify as a bug) is that if I have two
adjacent notes in a chord, I can't place one fingering indication to the
left and the other to the right. Up/down works ok, but left/right or
right/left places both indications on the right:
