Suggestion for Frescobaldi: engrave parent

2017-03-04 Thread N. Andrew Walsh
Hi List, I'm back to doing engraving work (after Urs has very helpfully helped me get my project back in order), and I've realized something again that I've wished Frescobaldi had as part of its functionality. In my other, tex-based text editor (LyX, which is excellent for editing large documents

Hi Andrew, somehow I have the feeling you're missing two available options. a) Frescobaldi has the concept of *master* variables. With these you can specify in an input file which file should be compiled instead. You can find the documentation in Frescobaldi's help at Frescobaldi Manual -> Editin

Hi Urs, I have been needing this just forever, and never knew about either of these techniques. I am indebted to you for pointing these facts out. I always wondered what 'Always Engrave' meant and could never figure it out. Thanks! Andrew (the other Andrew!) On 4 March 2017 at 21:55, Urs Liska

Fist note spacing after first measure

Good morning! I am fairly new to lilypond and the group but hope someone might be able to help or at least point me in the right direction in the manuals. I write single staff, unmetered (cadenzaOn), vocal chant and have a problem when there is more than one measure in a staff. The first note in

Hi Paul, >> You can try adding extra spacing width thus: >> \override Staff.BarLine.extra-spacing-width = #'(0 . 4) > That certainly worked. Another (perhaps more ’natural’?) option is: \override BarLine.space-alist.next-note = #'(semi-fixed-space . 2) Hope that helps! Kieren.
