s seems suboptimal as it makes the typesetting separate from the
notes _and_ as far as I understand it, doesn't affect MIDI - and the
first solution does.
Is there a better solution to this?

work. Setting #(ly:set-option 'crop #t) does not help.
The svg file still has
width="210.00mm" height="297.00mm"
inside the svg tag.
Is there a way to avoid this so that the svg size is the bare minimum to
display the rendered music?

I tried hacklily earlier on but unfortunately there's no way to share a
snippet by link, which is a useful feature.

Hi Valentin,
Good point! My mistake. Somehow I trimmed this example from a larger
piece and didn't notice the skips.

7 chord, it shows
A string fret 10, E string fret 12, C string fret 13 and nothing on the
G string with the warning:
/tmp/frescobaldi-knffjkxj/tmpw0203nsz/HighG-Ukulele-Chords.ly:9:16:
warning: No string for pitch # (given frets (13 12 10))
\chordmode {
a:7 }
What's going on here?
Thanks for lilypond btw - it's pretty impressive.
