I haven't been able to join the lilypond bug list, so I'm forced to use
the web interface (not capable of attachments).
Attached is what I'm getting when I compile on lilypond 2.13.60.
As you see, the stems on the bass are directed upwards when I force
beaming (left staves). If I omit
