Thanks for the suggestions. I give here a crude example of what I mean. I
have eliminated the tenor and base. I would like the lyrics in the first four
measures at the same horizontal level, in measure 5 and 6

So the issue is that in mm. 3-4, the alto lyrics are on a second line? I
think this is intentional...each Lyrics context is given a dedicated line
on a system. To do what you would want, you would need to combine the
Lyrics and set the associated voice (which, given the non-overlapping
skips you want.

or below the staves. There are SATB pieces where for example the first part
consists only of Soprano, then after a few measures the Alto comes in,then
all four parts etc. When
