Answering my own question, using Font Forge to examine this font more closely, the Postscript name contains no spaces, as follows: CoreSlabM27CnExtraLight Using this name in lilypond 2.19.48 works. Since this is already an italic face, there is no need to put Italic after the name. But the more

Hi Werner, Using fc-list, I see that of all the large number of fonts on my system, pretty much the only one that has no spaces in the field ‘fullname’ is the font in question (some obscure Asian ones with complex names also.) Using the fullname with no spaces makes the font work just fine in lil
