I'm not involved in the development end of this, but I know there's an Emacs major mode, lilypond-mode, for entering Lilypond files. I've used it only a little bit. I don't believe it is very actively developed, but I could be wrong. http://www.lilypond.org/doc/v2.19/Documentation/usage/text-edito
