\version "2.7.11"Having taken a look at Nicholas Sceaux's terrific opera scores, I found his pageBreakHack function. This function inserts an empty score with \header {breakbefore = ##t} into the music, forcing a pagebreak at that point. It looks like this:

This is something that was missing in version 2.4 but is included in
version 2.6. My main recommendation is to upgrade to a newer version
of LilyPond.

I'd like to insert a page break in the middle of a long \markup section
(or
between two separate \markup sections). This is for a large \book; I'd
like
to have two or three pages of text before beginning the music.
I kind-of managed to get a page break like this:

What version are you using? 2.5 has a new feature called
"breakbefore", but
that doesn't work in 2.4.

Search the mailing list archives! The short answer is that it's not
supported in version 2.4 but in version 2.5.

Hello !
I am now using Lilypond 2.4.2 on Cygwin. Still very enthousiastic with
this excellent piece of software.
I have a piece that has multiple movements. Because of page turning
problems, I would like to include a manual page break between 2 of the
movements (not before all movements). Is
rked. It should be easy for you to find the
relevant
section of the manual, though. :)
It would be fairly hard to do in version 2.2.x or earlier, since those
typesetting decisions are made by LaTeX. The only thing that might
prevent a page break, could be to use inline LaTeX code to increase

It's a bug. I'm not certain if it's been fixed in the devel version yet
or not.

Excuse me, it's not the page break, which causes the broken barline, but

Hi,
lilypond-version is 2.2.0.
If there are two areas of repeats in a piano-piece directly one after
another, lilypond creates automatically a correct double-repeat-barline
(":|:").
Unfortunately, in one piece this double-repeat-barline appears at page
break, and what happens, is the

It certainly works here, both with 1.6.11 and 1.7.late.
I picked a score at random, inserted a \newpage in the
\notes{} section and it certainly gives a page break, both
when I use ly2dvi and when I include it in a LaTeX wrapper
with lilypondfile{}. Of course, you have to remember that

I'm doing something without lilypond-book for a change, and I need to
force a page break. I've tried putting \newpage into the \notes{},
which doesn't seem to affect anything at all. I also tried the code
from input/regression/between-systems.ly:

Hello all,
After installing 1.6.4 for Cygwin, I am noticing some weird behavior.
I am writing a score for string orchestra. Lilypond version 1.6.0-1 was
able
to fit 2 systems on a single letter-sized page. Version 1.6.4 can only fit
one system on each page. Since there are only 4-5 staves per
