Hi,
At the moment, I'm using Lilypond to transcribe some handwritten arrangements
to clearly readable sheets of music for the choir I'm singing in.
The satb.ly template is a good start for that.
Support from the mailing list has also been great so far!

highland-pipers-in-the-Pacific-Northwest market - I play with the Washington
Scottish Pipe Band.
All of my Lilypond use has been for my choir (the OK Chorale), though.

I've been using Lilypond for three things since I learned how:
-Scores of my own personal compositions, mostly organ and 4-part choral
(mostly also unpremiered, although one of the organ ones will finally be
played next February :)

First, I do a little bit of transcription/arranging/composing. I've just
completed a Brass Band arrangement of `The Entertainer' which I found
on Mutopia. If anyone's interested, let me know (Lily7pond makes it look
great, but can't make it sound any
I use Lily mainly for typesetting my own compositions making examples in
essays (using lilypond-book) for my conservatoire (I'm a student).

I've been using lilypond to create song books for church. We have many Slovak
hymns that we sing. Up until now, the congregation only had words without the
notes. It's been difficult for new people and young people who don't speak
Slovak to learn the songs, keeping our heritage alive. Now
I'm fairly new to LilyPond, and brand-new to this list.
I'm a recent college graduate, programmer and cellist living in San
Francisco, looking to somehow make myself financially solvent through
some combination of Mac programming, freelance technical writing, and
cello playing.
