Hi, Lincoln Talkers — The Planning Board and HCA Working Group will continue working on zoning and planning issues for Option C at a Zoom meeting next Tuesday (12/12/2023) at 7 p.m. Here’s the Town’s link for that meeting and its agenda:
http://www.lincolntown.org/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_12122023-5370 This and subsequent Planning Board meetings are worth attending if you are interested in understanding what is involved in refining Option C to inform the addition of 600-800 new housing units within 1/2 Mike of Lincoln Station. To do so, the Planning Board will amend the Town’s zoning bylaws (characterized at Saturday’s Special Town Meeting as development “guardrails”); it will be quite a process to track. Tuesday’s meeting will both review a schedule for the HCA Working Group and address several issues, including a required percentage of commercial space in the Village Center District, the Special Permit process for added height/stories, and an “additional guardrail” – building and parking coverage in the Option C area, which includes the Mall and the commuter rail lot(s?).
