Thanks everyone for replying. Valentin's method of just keeping an invisible
MIAW is actually the first thing I tried. Since that requires a new movie
per texture we hoped using regular sprites would be easier on designers
using our tool.
Still, it's looking like MIAW is the way to go. There seems
