hello listees/ettes, i have the following two problems involving miaws:
problem no.1: my linked swa files stop playing when i open a movie in a window (whereas i'd like the sound in the main movie just to continue looping). i looked the problem up in macromedia's tech notes, but all i could find was this: >Opening a MIAW (movie in a window) stops linked SWA playback >Issue >Linked Shockwave audio files stop playing when a movie in a window (MIAW) is opened. >Solution >Download the free Director 7.02 update which addresses this problem. que? surely i'm not expected to download an old update?? does any of you know whether this problem still exists with director 8.5.1 and/or what to do against it? problem no.2: a lot weirder. occasionally when i try to open my miaws (both in director and in projectors) the weirdest error messages get thrown up. most common are "property not found #soundTab" and "property not found #platform", but i've also had "property not found #&%?" and the likes. i tried to program around using #platform in the miaw but to no avail (i'm using it to set the cursor over the miaw to the custom cursor i'm also using in my main movie). when i'd finished and tried again the miaw just came up with a different error message. and what #soundTab is i dont even know... does anyone have an idea what might be happening or where i might look for an error? i'm really freaked out by the fact that there's no regularity at all to this error... some days it doesnt show, some days it does, some days it complains about one thing, and then about another thing the next day - even though i havent changed my scripts at all. aaarrrrgh. help? thank you, heike .-) using: director 8.5.1 on windows 2000 [To remove yourself from this list, or to change to digest mode, go to http://www.penworks.com/lingo-l.cgi To post messages to the list, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Problems, email [EMAIL PROTECTED]).
