You can burn Hybrid CDs using Ahead Nero, but it's always been a pain to
mount Mac volumes on a PC so the hybrid can be created.
Thanks for the feedback so far, keep it coming!

Hi Gilles
Very weird fix (for the WatcherHelper/UIhelper problem)...
...I had my "on idle sleep" handler (by itself) at the end of a very
long movie script.
I moved the handler to the top_of_the_page, and guess what?? No error
anymore in authoring or runtime.
This is only a blind guess, but ar
Hi Slava
What graphic formats does the "projector icon" accept in Publish
Settings under Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther)?
Here comes a technote that give you all the details:

Hi Pedja
Has anyone encountered a similar behaviour?
I also experienced it with DirMX (pre MX2004)
So I always have a Director windows layout where windows don't overlap,
and I don't have any problem ;¬) (free win utility allSnap might help to
align/magnetize your window quickly)

Hi Tim
I realise that director works like this intentionally, but is there any
way to stop it, so that pictures are imported into the cast in the
original format?
if you're using importFileInto, you can use aditional params:
importFileInto(mTargetMember, strFile, [#trimWhiteSpace:FALSE])

Macromedia SMUS isn't nix-based, and there's no plan no port if onto some

Hi
what you suggested doesn't work either with the software renderer.
It seems to be a problem of switching off DTS at runtime.
This fails on all machines that use the software renderer.
Anybody else who could and would share his/her experience?
This might not be a solution but only a workaround :
I'd still like to know what I'm doing wrong with @//, though.
Well, I think (havn't checked out) that @ is for Lingo only, ans not

Hi Kerry
And here comes tons of verbose Lingo (I try to make Colin happy ;¬)
I'm trying to get the directory above the moviePath, and my brain is in
vaporlock.
a.) set the itemDelimiter to the foler delimiter (ie the last char of the
moviePath)
b.) remove the last chunks of the moviePath to come
Hi
Does anyone know of a list that briefly describes the purpose of all the
standard xtras that ship with director? It would really help to know
which of the xtras are _really_ needed for distribution.
Does this helps?

Hi Peter
I wonder, can Director script window have multiple statements in one
line?
e.g.
instead of
varA = 5
varB = 10
yes you can, but is it totally inefficient ;¬)
Here's the stupid workaround:
do("varA = 5" & RETURN & "varB = 10")
Now that you've readi it, you can forgot about it :¬)
cheers
The nice thing of these wrappers is that their properties have the same
names than timeout objects properties, so you can still do

Thank you (and Jakob and James!) for sharing your lingo. I'm curious

Hi
I believe I have used something written by Kerry that allowed callbacks

Hi
Is there any way to find out the scriptlist of a framescript ? how to
find out the parameters of it ?
If you're using DirMX, the UIHelper Xtra (a Director authoring xtra
installed with Director, yes you already got it) might help you:
put xtra("UiHelper").interface()

Hi Grimmwerks
If I've a bunch of objects, I can do a call the them with a handler,
correct? And the ones with the handler will respond/do it?
yes, but with one caveat : it looks like (I'm not sure about it, I should
check it) that Director parse your list by incrementing the index. So that

Hi Grimmwerks,
Actually, no. The weird thing is I started with the 1024x768 (set in the
movie props floater), saved it; came back and reset to 640x480 again in
the

Hi everyone
My original post starting this thread stated that copyPixels() does not
work when compositing _two_ images with alpha channels.
I haven't followed this thread since the start, so I might be out of
synchro, but FYI here comes a little movie script I used intensively when

whats happening is the code is referencing the sprite you attach it to so

I have a script object, like

The function gObj.handlers() gives me all the methods of that script.
Is there a comparable function that gives me all the properties and their

you can use 'getPropAt' also with instances. Here is a little handler
