Hello Bjarne,
I use also separate external cast lib to translate but I use Three for two languages
(not QT but I think it'snot the problem).

english actors)

Hi Bjarne
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that a few people have
encountered strange occurances with QT in external castlibs not showing up

to move the affected QT movies into an internal castlib to ge

The reason I asked is because I have an animation

the jpeg compression)and it runs extremely sluggishly.

You can have the linked assets in subfolders, but there are

Because the cast file saves a fully uncompressed version of the .jpg. When
it gets compiled to a .cct or a .dcr it regains it's former compression.
Can make for some huge source files though.

Hi
The answer is very simple, a jpg is 32 bit (I believe) and is compressed.
Director has to decompress the image in order to display it. So while the
compressed file size is 32 k, the image info uncompressed is giving you the
1.2MB file size. Basically if you want to think of it somewhat

Hi George
Make sure that your filenames are accurate and the directory structure is
properly intact. Also make sure that any change in file extensions have been
updated appropriately in your shocked file. Does it run locally? Does it run
fine from a server over a high bandwidth connection?

Hi George,
On the PC I'm using I don't see any graphics either.
I might guess that given you probably have lots of graphics to incorporate,
and it's reasonably certain no-one will need to see all of them during a
session, you're linking them at run-time by setting the fileName property of

Bjarne,
Thanks for responding. I just rechecked the original .dir file and I
neglected to check off downloading all the necessary xtras as needed. I
redid it and I hope that will solve the problem.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you want, as it appears aspects of
your script conflict. If your sprite travels 1 pixel at a time, you can't
speed up a repeat loop beyond removing a delay. So, the first thing I
would do is remove all your delay detail.

to increase the speed of movement, increment the locV by more than 1
pixel at a time. as you get closer to your target, increase the amount
you move it by each time. that will give the desired effect.
it will require rewriting the loop, as you cannot use Y for the new
locV.
Instead,
set- and getPref are client side solutions only. You'll need a
server-side solution for a high score board. Try cgi, asp, multi-user
server, etc.

I guess just try again. I wouldn't wait that long again since neither the

Is it common to get an error on a shockwave file which writes a pref file
when it is on the web. How would I make that file writable? It is for a high
score board for a web based shockwave game.

You might also consider just saving a text file with the sprite number

the text file and start those sprites in the restored location.

Hi Vlado
Your problem lies in that Director does _not_ embed digital video into the
projector. Instead it uses it as linked media. You will always need to ship
the .avi externally. If your animation is small, however, you could try
making a .swf out of it and them embedding it into Director.
Dear Vlado,
Could you be more specific about the problem that you are facing?
What exactly is the problem with your projector?
With Warm Regards,
Jeevan Mathew John.
