Yes, there is. I mentioned it in my original answer, but I wasn't very

There's a program you can buy called "File Buddy." I think it's shareware,
but I'm not sure--it's

Buddy API can do this for you. I understand that you don't need it in
Director, but you could create a small app that would hide/show files for
you. The other option is to play with ResEdit.

Sorry! I forget to mention that it is not related to lingo. It is a
general question about MacOS.
On windows we can set attributes for a file like archive, hidden, system
etc. If there is any way to hide a file on Mac OS
and again make it visible. If some one other knows please help

Well, this isn't really Lingo, but File Buddy does a pretty good job. I
don't know of a runtime solution, though.
