Hi there

Thanks for the reply Jonathan, but it seems a bit over the top to need this
powerful xtra just to store one string value. Basically all the customised
game is, is a game that instead of the computer randomly setting the
contents of 4 garages, the sender can set these 4 values and email the game
(with these values somehow incorporated) to a friend . I know it seems a bit
of a pathetic idea - but the client ran out of ideas of fun things they
could do via email and thought this would fill the slot of game 8 on the
cdrom.

To get an idea of the game see

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul,

I think that the best solution for you is to use a database engine (V12DBE
Xtra fom Integration New Media). That way, you can easily save your game
data in a file (V12 DB file) so the player can send it to other player via
email. You can also use a more advanced solution with V12 Online. It will
allow you to make a game server with many game "results" so all the players
can share the same data over the internet. I don't know if it makes sense,
but this is the solution I would use.

If you want to see what you can achieve with V12, you can visit INM's site
at: http://www.integration.qc.ca
