Hey all -
We are creating a large environment with several technologies including
Director (shockwave) and Java. We started out with just a Director
environment using MIAWs, but found modularity (e.g., namespaces and
memory
contexts) to be a bit weak. Also, MIAWs not working in shockwave pretty
much killed that direction.
So.... we are looking for other ways to modularize our code. Have any of
the following been done? Are they possible? (If so, someone want a job
to
implement it????)
- Getting the shockwave ActiveX to work in Java (yes, for now this is a
Windows only project.)
- Getting the Java plugin to work in shockwave (so that you have access
to
Java classes from lingo/shockwave)
- How about turning a Director movie into a (sprite?/asset?/lingo?)
Xtra?
(not just by putting the movie in the
Xtra folder.)
to be more specific, these modules/object are (fully functional,
interactive, dynamic) things like bar graphs, pie charts, complex data
tables, ... we would like these objects to individual sprites. On the
Java
side, it would be great to create our data structures/classes in Java
and
have access to the code in Lingo.
