I don't think you could do that within a single MythTV frontend. Of course,
you could run a separate music player outside your frontend and watch videos
in MythTV at the same time, selecting a separate sound card in each
application.

Actually, it's not that exciting. We're trying to get duplex
negotiation to resolve successfully between two different pieces of
WAN equipment. Putting a dumb hub in the chain between the two pieces
of equipment is the workaround, but we're short one hub.
