Yes, I'd say it lives up to expectations. I'm having a lot of fun with mine. The software still has some rough edges, but I expect that will improve quickly now that more developers have them in hand. I'm looking forward to the release of XBMC. My only small gripe is that the USB ports are limited

Although it's not a colour printer, I'm very happy with my Samsung ML-2851ND. It works beautifully in Ubuntu, OS X and Windows. To set it up in Ubuntu I pretty much just hit "next, next, next" in the add printer wizard. It's a network printer, which makes it very convenient for use with multiple
