I can't answer the second part, but logrotate would probably be the
preferred method. Look at /etc/logrotate.conf.

I installed Slack390 10.0 a couple of weeks ago but was never able to establish a gdm
or xdm session. Mark Post gave me several suggestions which did get me past some
problems but I was still unable to get a gdm or xdm session. So this week I
downloaded and installed Slack390 9.1. I am able
All,
I tried to replicate Richard's problem by downloading XLitePro, but
couldn't. The version I was able to get, XLitePro 1.3, worked with
Slack/390 -current (10.0), which is why I recommended Richard try that.
Unfortunately, he had already overwritten his 10.0 install with 9.1, so we

Do you know what specifically triggers the problem? I was just asked if we
could do samba.

Seems to work OK for me.
I'm not able to obtain the performance goals I defined.
Could you describe the goals you're trying to meet -- that'd help a lot
to help you get the right configuration.
We found out that with SLES8 2.4.21, you need to put 'primary_router' before the
portname in chandev.conf. Then reboot, since 'rcchandev reload' by itself doesn't
do it.
