203E, 203F, 2107; format 000 end; detach all the disks; edited the extent
control file; rlde extent control; edit the direct enttry for the guest

Phew! So there were no messages from the attach operation?if MAINT's console
was spooled you should have a record. In fact the system operator's log should
have captured the attach operations (if successful).

It appears 122, 123, and 151 are full pack devices. Are any of these the ones?
All the other devices are definitely minidisks.
I am logged in to MAINT when I run it...

The attach command is a class B command, did you really want to give your guest
that level of privilege?
attach [disk id] * was what I used after it was formatted...

I have several dasd volumes attached to the wrong guest. When I try to
detach them I get "Device does not exist" message. I just want to assign
them to another guest.
Thanks in advance.

Read this from you link (not sure what this means):
Multiple device support. This feature is currently not supported on SUSE Linux
Enterprise Server.

Well, I'm not married to this (fresh) install, but I do want to be able to
expand the root fs when necessary. I'd be willing to re-install if I can
create the root fs so that it can be (easily) expanded if necessary.
Currently I have only 1 single dasd (in use):
Disk /dev/dasdc:
cylinders
I just recently created a two member SSI using the previous 6.3 cookbook. Is
there any way to retrofit the sfs changes described in the new cookbook? I
previously set the default sfs pool name to "POOL1".

zEDC can be used from within Linux with the genwqe device driver.
genwqe is available in RHEL7.1 and SLES12.
Details can be found here:

Anyone knows if this is possible yet ?
As I understand it's advertised to be available, but when ?
