all that much.
first off I think you may have the syntax of the ln command reversed..
sh-3.2# ls
etc
sh-3.2# ln -s etc \$SYSNAME
sh-3.2# ls
$SYSNAMEetc
sh-3.2# ls -al \$SYSNAME
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 3 Jul

I am trying to create a SYMLINK for /MaintP21/etc under maintenance root
pointing to /$SYSNAME/etc.
When I run ln -s command but it is not taking $SYSNAME but it is taking
SYSTEM/etc
Can someone point how to preserve /$SYSNAME while doing symbolic link ?
