Hi,
Can anyone say when cmm-2 will be supported on Redhat?
I am currently using cmm-1 and it is just not good enough.
Thanks,
Offer Baruch

Hi guys,
First of all thanks for the replies...
I will be back at work on Sunday... I will try the benchmark tools and send you
data from z/VM and Linux.
Thanks again!

Hi all,
I have a big performance problem running Redhat V5.2 on system z.
The configuration looks like this:
I gave the test Linux an absolute share of 50% (limithard) so cpu won't vary
from one test to the other (I have 1 IFL on a z9 BC machine)
Linux has 1GB of RAM – no paging from the VM side
Hi all,
We just bought some dasd storage specifically for z/VM and for the z/Linux
underneath.
This is the time to decide what model to use 3/9/27… Originally I thought
the bigger the better.
We are using DIRMAINT to manage dasd space and now I am not sure what is the
best approach.

First of all thanks for the answers...
But what about 1 model 9 divided to 3 minidisks each on a different Linux? VM
is the one creating the IOSQ time now... right?
Offer.

Hi all,
I have been reading a lot about Linux storage management and I saw a couple
of recommendations for over committing storage in z/VM :
1. Give your Linux as little storage as possible and use a VDISK for
the first swap device.
2. Use CMM to manage Linux storage.
The first
Hi all,
I am trying to setup a VIPA interface on my RHEL V5.2 and distribute the
routes using ospfd (using the quagga package).
What I am trying to accomplish is having 3 physical interfaces (ctc0, hsi0
and eth0) and one dummy interface representing the VIPA interface.
The main reason for
Hi there,
We are planning to move z/VM into production and having the same thoughts...
What we decided to do was to use our current DMZ (a real one - outside of
z/VM).
Have one VSWITCH for your local Intranet and another VSWITCH connected only
to the DMZ trough a separate OSA port.
No connection
Hi,
I think the best way to shutdown is to use the SIGNAL command with the
maximum timeout value of 32767 and using the kernel 'vmpoff=LOGOFF'
parameter in the /etc/zipl.conf.
This way CP will try to logoff the machine only after about 9 hours (more
than enough to fix any delays) and Linux kernel
