Thanks Michael,
I had not tried a signal shutdown from the console yet, so I did and it worked
fine. At least I know that RedHat seems to be set up
Hello Listers,
I am working on upgrading our gold image from V5.8 to V6.4. One of the
issues I have hit is that I think I have everything set up to handle a signal
shutdown, but the 6.4 instance does not acknowledge that it has been received.
I have set up signal

It worked, but it was decided not to be moved into production.
We have another app that we would like to test, but we no longer run any SUSE

Ok, I think we are on the same page. Linux using VM minidisks, and a
track by track back using dfdss from z/OS.
Your dfdss job is expecting a CP volume, but you probably did not format

CPVOL FORMAT UNIT(5355) VFY(VMF108) RANGE(0,0)
Works from ICKDSF on either z/OS or z/VM.
After you do this, make sure your dfdss backup jobs include the
CPVOLUME parm, as follows:
DUMP TRACKS(0,0,32759) -
INDD(VMVOL1) CPVOLUME ADMIN -

I fix one and immediately hit another one. I have found some
