Hi everyone,
today the new Ubuntu 21.10 (codename: Impish Indri) interim or non-LTS
version got released!
It comes - as always - with lots of package updates in general,
and on top introduces a huge number of new s390x-specific features, like
(just to name a few):

Hi Neale,
no, unfortunately not.
nodejs 12 is officially available with hirsute (21.04) and newer:

Hi Dave,
the principle is the same for all Linux on Z distros (well, the sudo piece
is typical for Ubuntu ;-)
Enable the corresponding ccw devices:
sudo chzdev -e 0.0.000c-0.0.000e
and you'll get these devices:
ls -l /dev/vm*

Hi,
I just completed some rough tests on a pretty small LPAR (just 1.,5GB RAM)
and I ran the GA kernel 4.15 as well as the HWE kernel 5.0.
An activation of another DASD device requires on kernel 5.0 about 90% less
memory compared to kernel 4.15 - so there is indeed a big difference.
However, with
Hi Elisabeth,
some weeks ago a wrote a bog entry about Canonical's charmed distribution

Hi Gadi,
I 'assume' that your system and/or archive information was not up to date.
Let's go step-by-step through the following:
First of all fix the current situation with:
sudo apt install --fix-broken
or in short:
sudo apt install -f
Then I suggest to make sure that your archive information a
Ubuntu Server for IBM Z and LinuxONE aka s390x (started with 16.04 LTS,
released in April 2016) was always 64-bit only,
hence no 31-bit (legacy) support for any of the Ubuntu Server for s390x
releases so far.

Hi, I did not yet worked with zACI,
but the setup and configuration of HiperSockets in Ubuntu is quite straight
forward:
Just check for configured devices:
znetconf -c | grep HiperSockets
or better check for unconfigured devices for this example:
znetconf -u | grep HiperSockets
And configure a ne
