SP1installed under z/VM 5.4
- We have 2 SLES10 + 1 SLES11 running under z/VM 5.4. The Hipersocketnetwork
has address 192.0.1.x
- All SLESes ping each other successfully
- All SLES10s ping z/VM 192.0.1.x address successfully.

We are planning to migrate from 5.2 to 5.3 some time during 2008. To achieve
this we will make a second-level z/VM installation, test all we can, migrate
the system directory (users, Linuxes, etc.), modify the ipl address at the

While testing the log archive into a tape device and its removal from disk
by using db2tapemgr, this is what I get:
db2tapemgr db lnxges store on /dev/rtibm0 force eject
Parameter error. Reason: DBT2112N Device /dev/rtibm0 is not a tape
I had to install the samba client after having installed SLES9 and it
required to mount CD CORE 1. After trying several times, CD CORE 1
actually meant Installation CD 2, CD CORE 2 actually meant Installation
CD 3 and so on.

These are the symptoms:
- We can use the 3590 tape drives correctly. That means we can tar -cvf any
file/s.
- We can get into DB2 (user db2inst1) and EXPORT individual tables into 3590
tape drives perfectly.

statements inside programs (call, dxfr, load).
