You are going to need a zSeries machine, z/800, z/900 or z/990 as
Hipersockets is a zArchitecture microcode LIC feature. On the operating
systems, you will need at least z/OS 1.2.You can simulate Hipersockets
on G5/G6 or MP3000 machines with z/VM 4.2 and above with VLAN.

The PCICC is the Crypto Coprocessor and the PCICA is the Crypto Accelerator
which is faster and made for the demands of SSL encryption. SSL will
still work with PCICC but not as fast.

We were able to get around it with the following Linux command
route add default gw 192.161.25.72
to add a default gateway to Linux where 192.161.25.72 is the IP address of
the OS/390 LPAR.

DFDSS can backup volumes formatted with ICKDSF INIT and issues message
ADR307E RC6 when the volume was formatted with ICKDSF CPVOLUME.

Try entering java -fullversion. It should tell you if java is present and
what version. Look in /usr/lpp/java.
