Given that there seem to be a lot more user-contributed kernel mods
popping up recently (all of Leland Lucius's work comes to mind), and the
fact that some of us are itching to be playing with 2.5 (and 2.6 when it
appears), but really don't want to give up the convenience of guest
LANs...

Has the IBM team thought recently about the feasibility of packaging its
OCO modules as NVidia (for example) does their drivers, as a linkable
OCO object module and a skeletal framework that allows you to compile a
version-correct module that then simply makes calls into the object
module?  This would free us from the dependence on using only
IBM-blessed kernel levels if we want to use Guest LANs.
