This is correct if you are only running Linux images under VM.
If you plan z/OS (VSE...) under z/VM you need a CP processor.

Might be a rookie question but I can't find it
specifically stated in the IBM documentation.  If we
purchase an IFL engine does z/VM run entirely on this
CPU  (with Linux) or does z/VM need any part of a
non-IFL charged CPU.  Another way to phrase it might
be when I'm creating my LPAR with an IFL I just need
to give my z/VM LPAR the one IFL CPU and not carve out
any part of a standard CPU, correct?
