Did you activate the DASD manually (with chccwdev or echoing stuff to
/proc/dasd/devices or the new /sys entries) or did you use yast?
If it was the former you're probably missing the hwcfg files for your new
volumes in /etc/sysconfig/hardware (i.e. hwcfg-dasd-bus-ccw-devno) so
hotplug/coldplug

Check /proc/dasd/devices to see if they're listed there. If they're not,
then you'll probably need to look at your initrd to see if they're listed
there, and fix

I am currently trying to create and use some new filesystems in my recently
installed SuSE 9 for zSeries using 3390-3 minidisks. We are following the
same procedure we have been using all along 2006 but we are finding real
problems now by doing the same.
What we do is:
- We format
