SP2 is Service Pack 2. There is one for 31-bit (s390) and another for 64-bit (s390x), It includes a bunch of fixes and a later kernel. From the SuSE s390 site: SLES8 31-bit build date was 2002/11/12 for GA SP231-bit build date was 2003/06/17 for GA SP331-bit build date was 2003/10/0
