I have installed SLES8/64 bit into both under z/VM 5.1 and a native z990
LPAR. I have connectivity via GB OSA, using vswitch for the guest
instance. Both instances have 1 GB of memory.

I am having trouble running Yast2 using my SLES7/Intel machine as my X
server. The initial Yast2 menu displays, but when I try to select a
function, new processes get started, but no new windows are created.
Netstat shows new sockets established to the x11 server with SEND-Q counts.
I am having a similar problem trying to install DB2 Connect using the GUI.
I've observed the problem from both the bootable reader image, the system
installed from the iso CD's and after upgrading to k_deflt-2.4.7-251.
I've also tried upgrading to qt3-3.0.5-169.

My SLES7/Intel is able to display his own yast2 windows and I have used it
in the past for my SLES7/390 windows. Simple modules lik xclock seem to
work ok from SLES/zSeries.

Anybody have any suggestions about what may be wrong or what I might look
at to debug this problem?
