Do I believe it? NO! I'll attempt 2 more installs. If they work, I will take out the chroot_local_user and try again. (of course, I will save the good Suse 9 install.) But it does make me wonder, if this parm is so common, that it is not worth mentioning in the Suse 9 installation manual, just what else hasn't been mentioned? Of course, I'm getting ahead of myself. This could just be a fluke or it may allow the (wrong) path I took to work<G>. It just shouldn't have been this difficult.
