Hi, all.

I had installed the driver for IBM 3590 tapes to backup my linux files with
and it worked more-or-less fine (But still it worked) until last friday I
decided to install patches for my SLES9.

Ever since I just cannot use my 3590 tapes due to the following error:

# depmod -a
# l
total 108
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Mar 13 12:56 ./
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 Mar 11 10:03 ../

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 60740 Mar 13 12:56 tape_3590.ko <-- THIS IS THE
3590 DRIVER

# modprobe tape_3590
FATAL: Error inserting tape_3590
(/lib/modules/2.6.5-7.97-s390x/tape_3590.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or
unknown parameter (see dmesg)

And of course:

# chccwdev -e 0.0.0800
Setting device 0.0.0800 online
