If you have z/VM, SLES and TSM for Linux on zSeries you are all set from the software side. On the hardware side you need two FC ports configured for chpid type=FCP (assuming you want failover/load balancing, otherwise you can scrape by on 1 port) out of a Ficon card and connected to a SAN swit

Tivoli client for RH EL3 AS beta on s390?

2003-09-23 Thread Daniel Jarboe
Is anyone aware of a tivoli client that works on RH EL3 (taroon) beta? I grabbed the TIVsm 5.2.0 RPMs, but got failed dependencies for libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3. So I checked redhat's ftp site and there's no compat-libstdc++ RPM there. The only compats I saw were compat-db and compat-p

We are looking at putting these two components into linux servers on our z890 IFL. So far I have only installed the 64bit versions of SLES 9 & 10. Does anyone have any hints/warnings/horror_stories about this? Any recommendations for the installation of the 31bit SLES9? /Tom Kern /301-903-2211 --

You need to install the compat-libstdc++ package in order to resolve that dependancy. For s390 there is only a compat-libstdc++-2.10.0-1.s390.rpm package available that provides libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3, but there will be a compat-libstdc++ package for RHEL3 that provides libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 a

Thanks Phil, Any idea when this will be available? The only compat's I see on the redhat ftp site for taroon/s390 are compat-db and compat-pwdb. Management does not want to get too in depth with moving sample workloads to evaluate the new platform without a tivoli client working. ~ Daniel

Yeah, I see the same error. That stinks, to say the least. I did google search on the symbol name. I came up with number of hits with Ulrich Weigand's name on them. :P I don't think this is his fault though, so I'm not sure where to report the bug, Tivoli, or Red H
