Some dates I've recorded that I didn't see in the other postings: We originally made linux390.marist.edu publicly known in Jan 2000. The 1st mentioned of running Linux on VM (yes, it was specifically VM and not just a mainframe) Aug 25, 1994 by Rick Troth 1st call for developers for Linux on VM
