Okay...the harddisk burned out, yet it still loads DOS and a graphic
shell? Isn't dosshell the one that DOS 5.00 and later included? I
suggest starting with at boot disk, and if that works move on to a hard
drive install, or a boot loader (I had trouble with a 8086 PS/2, so
testing off of floppy

I've got this old IBM wreck (it's actually a 386 sx, PS/1 type

Hey all, I'v just recently gotten into ELKS and I have installed it on my
8088. I use 360k disks to boot it and it seems to work well, except for an
error that screwes things up. I don't know exactly what it says because it
scrools off the screen too quicly, but it has something to do with Inodes

I am one of you hackers, and I also develop on elks (look at
netboot in elks, etc)
But we should never forget the aim of elks !
I am really a linux fan and also hack on linux and so there is a
simple rule for me:
All computers should run Linux, except for them, whi
i tried to get elks running on my 486 sx 33 laptop, and it comes up with a few
errors.
the first one is Unable to open /dev/tty (error 2)
which occurs while loading the root floppy
the second one is fchown: function not implemented
followed by No shell!
and then halts.
any ideas?
