Is this a problem? As far as I can tell, all of the system's devices
are working.

This is on my HP Pavilion dv1240us laptop.
I know the events are generated correctly:

I think the 1st message on this thread holds the answer:
Hmm. I've reproduced these problems with vanilla 2.6.21-rc5, so the
latest acpi-git changes are off the hook. I am currently trying to
reproduce the problems with 2.6.21-rc4. I'll let you know how it
turns out.

I am going to double-check with vanilla 2.6.21-rc5 and make sure none
of the problems are happening there.

When I booted last time, I found that my X pointer was frozen. When I
switched to a VT and ran dmesg, I found:
[drm] Initialized drm 1.0.1 20051102
ACPI: PCI Interrupt :00:02.0[A] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 19
[drm] Initialized i915 1.5.0 20060119 on minor 0
[drm] Initialized i915 1.5.0 2
Ping...
I just reproduced this ACPI error with 2.6.18-rc5-mm1 + all hotfixes +
a crypto patch from Herbert + two nodemgr patched from Stefan + a max
trace depth patch from Ingo.
Any additional debug information needed? Any progress?
Thanks,
Miles

Hello,
I am running Ubuntu 6.06.1. When I boot my test kernel, I can only
successfully boot if I include "acpi=off noacpi". Otherwise, when
"Loading ACPI modules..." shows up on the console, the I/O completely
locks up. I don't have a serial cable-linked kernel debugging machine
handy. Any su

Hi Andrew,
Do you have CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU=y?
I rebuilt with all the PCI hotplug stuff enabled.
dmesg output suggests I don't have this hardware:

I am not sure whether this is an error that needs following up on.
