versions has been difficult, since STR working once does not guarantee
that the problem is solved.
I'd appreciate any help, even if it's just ways that I can see what's
going on and where it's failing.

Hi,
What's the status of this patch? AFAICT, it hasn't been applied
upstream anywhere. This fixes the problems on my HP dv2125nr with the
new BIOS, so I'd really like to see it merged.
