Now that's just ridiculous. I love tubes as much as anyone, but what's the
point of using a tube amplifier with a cheapo motherboard DAC?

I have a feeling that the reason you haven't gotten much help on this list
is that most of the people on this list develop for ALSA and/or JACK,
rather than OSS. You might want to consider trying alsa or jack out, since
OSS is being moved out of the kernel ayway.
